Vacation 2012 - Day 6

Day 6 was a great sunny day!  We spent some time at the pool and some time at the beach and ended the day with a great dinner at Conch Republic in Redington Beach which was delicious!  After dinner we made it back just in time to watch the sunset and get a few pictures.  Not sure that we got very many good family pictures this year as Laney was exhausted and not willing to take good pictures...Lily on the other hand has become quite the model!  She loves to pose and take pictures now!  Can't believe our vacation is coming to an end. Tomorrow is our last full day and the weather is already looking great!

Vacation 2012 - Day 4 & 5

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day, so we got to enjoy the beach and pool for most of the day yesterday.  The girls both enjoyed the time in the sun. Then we went to one of our favorite places for dinner at John's Pass, the Friendly Fisherman.  After dinner we were walking around shopping and getting ice cream and all of a sudden a beautiful rainbow appeared.  Then Ben and I went out last night which was interesting...one place was definitely a 'towny' place and the other place had a few bands and was fun as well! 

Today was a rainy day...so what do we do on rainy days....we went to the outlet mall!!  It was a good day at the outlet mall and we might end up at the pool later, but the next few days of the end of our vacation are supposed to be fabulous, so we will definitely be soaking in the sun! 

Vacation 2012 - Days 2 & 3

Well day 2 was a little of a wash out b/c it was overcast and rainy for most of the day, so we used it as our shopping day.  I found a new dress and Janice found a few things for the condo at Pheeney's and then we went to John's Pass for dinner at DeLosa's pizzeria which was DELICIOUS as usual!  Ben and I stuck around and did some shopping and had a few drinks while the girls went back with Janice and Mark.

Day 3 was a typical vacation day...pool and beach all day!!  Lily went out with Pa in the morning to the beach while the rest of us stayed back at the condo while Laney napped.  Then when they got back we went down to the pool to swim.  After we swam at the pool it was lunch and nap time...after nap time it was beach time...so we went to the beach for a few hours before it was time to come in and get showered for dinner.  We went to dinner at Sloppy Joe's in Treasure Island...yummy!  After dinner we tried to get a few good pictures of the family.  We came back and Lily and Pa went swimming and after that we went to the Candy Kitchen for ice cream and candy.  Laney seems to be more into the beach than the pool b/c of all the waves...more to watch which keeps her mind off the fact that she is not mobile.  Big day and can't wait to do it again tomorrow!

Vacation - Day 1

Well the trip down was about what I expected...not any better!  Lily did FANTASTIC!  Laney...well it was not great.  The quick trip to Chicago was fine until we were on the way down and she screamed the entire time...plus she was EVERYWHERE in the plane.  The lay over went okay...just found a place for the girls to roam around in an empty gate!  The 2 hour trip to Tampa was interesting...everything Lily wanted to do Laney wanted to mess with her and Laney was everywhere within our little area...she couldn't get happy and was whining like CRAZY!  Finally she got her thumb in her mouth and slept or the next hour until we started decending and was screaming again because of her ears.  Once again, Lily was a trooper...slept most the trip down to Tampa and cooperated once she got off the plane even though she was extremely exhausted. 

The girls went right to bed when we got to the condo and we started fresh today.  Even though it was overcast we were still able to enjoy a quick trip to the beach and the rest of the day we were at the pool.  Girls napped well and all o us had a great time!  Can't wait for more pool and beach time tomorrow!

Race weekend!

Last weekend was a busy but fun race weekend!  It is the weekend we look forward to every year.  We had Carb Day on Friday with a party that night...we cleaned house and packed on Saturday...went to the race on Sunday until lap 150 and left to go to the airport!  Even though it was hot, it was totally worth all the fun we had!  Can't wait until next year!

Once again Kristi (our photographer) was able to capture some great pictures of our girls!! There are a few that are my favorite of Laney. The ones of the girls together turned out cute, but hopefully as they get older I will be able to get them to both smile together and cooperate for the pictures! Just will take some time! Enjoy!

We have a bike rider!

Lily is not so into riding her bike, but Laney seems to be really into riding the tricycle at Nan and Pa's house. She is a fast little thing! She doesn't even use the peddles, but seems to know what she is supposed to do! She did get her first booboo on her elbow when she fell off, but she was a trooper...hopefully she will be more into it than Lily is! She may even teach her sister how to ride a bike!

It is May and we have had exceptional weather for the track!! Such an exciting time to get out and see the racecars! It was Laney's first trip to the track and she seemed to really like it! Hard to believe just a year ago I was super pregnant wondering if Laney was going to come before, during or after the race! Thank goodness she waited until after the race! We were able to get our annual picture by the Pagoda. Also this past week, we went to the park one evening. It was a great night to walk and enjoy Swinford Park. We have a busy week coming up this week with the Carb day on Friday, race on Sunday and then we leave for vacation on Sunday as well. With traveling on Sunday to Florida I will probably not post until sometime on Monday. Hope everyone has a great week!
