The day after Christmas celebration

For the past couple of years we have been celebrating with the Hardwick side on the day after Christmas which is a lot of fun! We get to eat all the yummy leftover food and celebrate with all the young cousins! Lily always has a lot of fun. Since I had time this morning after bath, I figured I would pop in a movie try to do french braids while Lily's hair was wet...it didn't turn out too bad! Lily had another great Christmas this year and we are so blessed to have such great family to be able to share it with and can't wait to do it next year and many more years to come! You will also find at the end of this post a link to a slideshow of ALL the pictures from this Christmas! Enjoy and have a wonderful New Year!

Here is a view from the front of the french braids.

A back view...it was so much easier to do it when her hair was wet!

Baking some cookies with an apron that Great Grandma Connie made for Khelsea more than 20 years ago...it was so cute!

Look at her hair after taking the braids out...wow!

Christmas Day - Part 2

The last part of our day was spent at Pap and Gram Baute's house. It was a lot of fun just like the other Christmas's! We had lots of presents to open and were definitely exhausted at the end of the day from opening presents, going from house to house and eating WAY too much! Lily got a lot of fun things and one of the fun gifts that we got as a family was a gift card to go to the Great Wolf Lodge in Ohio. So we are excited to take a trip probably sometime after the new baby gets here!

Not a great picture, but had to get our family picture on Christmas...we almost forgot!

Christmas Day - Part 1

The night before Christmas Lily was into putting cookies, milk and carrots out for Santa and his reindeer. She was exhausted and went to bed and didn't make a peep until we started making some noise at 7am. She came out and got into her stocking and found her favorite...chapstick! Then she remembered the cookies and milk she sat out (see video below). After that she noticed her new stool that she can use in the kitchen to help mommy out. Then Pa and Nan came over and we opened all of our gifts and she got her new slide! For now it will stay inside, but we are excited to have a new outside toy for her! This was just the first part of our day. She quickly became tired and went down for a nap around 9:30am so she would be well rested for the next couple of Christmas celebrations.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we spent time with Papaw Corson, Gramma Corson, Uncle Ross, Aunt Twyla and Uncle Steve. We ate lots of yummy snacks and food and enjoyed watching Lily open all of her fun new toys! She got some really fun things like an easel, baby crib, doll house, marble game, clothes and much more! Here are some of the pics from that celebration!

Her customized marble game made by Papaw Corson! She LOVES it!

She got a candy cane with Hershey kisses in it and she has been watching GG (Great Grandma Chezem) walk around with her cane, so she was using it as a cane...it was so funny!

Well not really where the baby should go, but that is at least where she was storing the baby at the time! Let's hope she doesn't do that with her new baby brother or sister!

Using our new gift of "relaxation" from Uncle Ross...our eye pillows...she was into it!

Loving her new easel! Look how well she is holding the colored pencil...what a pro!

The star of the show!

Well I think it has been confirmed that Lily has NO stage fright! Yesterday during Tim's basketball game during half time...Pap (Jay) told Lily it was fine for her to just stay close and dance to the music...well she kind of ventured out onto half court and decided that she was going to dance and give everyone a great show for half time...she got the whole crowd into it and laughing...this isn't even the best video that I could have gotten of it all, but just a quick glimpse of her performance...we have no doubt that she is going to like to be part of the show some day! And yes...she was really the only one out on the court and she DID NOT care at all!

Fun in the snow!

Well it was finally warm enough for us to go out and enjoy this beautiful snow that we got last week. We suited up and went out for about an hour to sled, through snow balls and make snow angels. Lily seemed to have a lot of fun this year...hopefully we will have some time to make it out again when it is nice and sunny outside! That is the only way to play in the snow!

Walking up the front hill of our house to go down on the sled again...she was trying to get us to pull her back up the hill each time and we told her that was the joy of sledding...got to teach her young!

It's snow angel time!

Not too bad for her first snow angel!

Fun at the Children's Museum

So I decided to take a fun afternoon to enjoy it with Lily, Grandma & Pap Tipton last Friday. We had a great time, but Lily and I were definitely exhausted after the day. The museum was PACKED when we went, but I think we covered all of her favorite places. Here are some fun pictures from the day.

Playing with the dinosaur eggs

Looking at the glass made by Chahuly

Playing in the sand or what Lily refers to as the "beach"...this is as close as we get to a beach in Indiana in the winter time! :)

After the beach...it was water time!

Time to play in the kitchen

She had to groom the Santa's reindeer...so cute...she looked like a pro doing this!

Giving Barbie a phone call

Down the slide we go...look at her with her hands up! She is going to LOVE rollercosters someday...just like her mommy!

We finished up at the carousel for the day...a good end to the day!

Lily Singing

Well all I have to say is that I hope she will be able to carry a tune some day b/c she LOVES to sing! It is her new thing that she is doing...we have no clue what she is singing, but she will go on and one and as loud as she wants to be!

Ponies and Santa

We want to a little pony farm yesterday night to see ponies and horses as well as Santa. They had cookies, games and much more. It was fun! Lily wasn't really into Santa, so our picture wasn't that great and hopefully when I get a chance to scan it, I will be able to post it. She decorated it to look like a frame and then we were set to go. Hopefully next time she will like Santa. The funniest was at Hardee's this morning before church we were sitting eating breakfast and this man came up that looked just like Santa or what Lily calls "Ho, ho, ho" and gave her a candy cane...she was not scared of him then, but more excited that he just gave her a candy cane! It was cute...she kept saying "Bye, bye Ho, ho ho!"
